Marri Laxman Reddy Institute of Technology and Management (MLRITM) has been recognized under Section 2(f) & 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956, dated 26th January 2015 by University Grants Commission, New Delhi. Now the college is under the head "Non-Government Self Financed" Colleges teaching up to Master's degree to make it eligible to receive central assistance. The college would also be eligible to get grant for all UGC schemes related to teachers and students.

Autonomous Status :

Marri Laxman Reddy Institute of Technology and Management (MLRITM) has been conferred Autonomous Status by the University Grants Commission (UGC) for a period of ten years (2019–2020 to 2028–2029) under the UGC Autonomous Colleges Scheme. Under this status, the following 10 UG programs—CSE, CSE (AI & ML), CSE (Data Science), CSE (Cyber Security), IT, CSIT, ECE, EEE, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering—and 5 PG programs—M.Tech (CSE), M.Tech (CAD/CAM), M.Tech (Embedded Systems), M.Tech (Structural Engineering), and MBA—will operate with academic autonomy. This includes flexibility in curriculum design, examination structure, and academic planning, enabling the institute to strengthen teaching–learning processes and improve overall educational quality.
