The Department of Freshman Engineering serves as the academic launch pad for all first-year B.Tech students, strengthening their foundations through Mathematics, Advanced Engineering Physics, Engineering Chemistry, and English. With a dedicated team of faculty members mentoring around 850 students, the department blends theory, practice, and essential professional skills.
Our state-of-the-art smart classrooms, discipline-specific laboratories, and digital language labs support technology-enabled, experiential learning. Early exposure to research, Centers of Excellence, and the Innovation & Design Thinking course encourages creativity, problem-solving, and multidisciplinary exploration.
Students receive structured training in communication through English Language Communication Skills/Advanced English Communication Skills labs, presentations, verbal ability modules, and seminar-based learning, ensuring strong professional articulation and placement readiness. Foreign language learning, including German, enhances global outlook and international opportunities.
Value-added courses such as Financial Literacy, Engineering Projects in Community Services, Vedic Mathematics, and Yoga nurture holistic development, social responsibility, cognitive agility, and personal well-being.
