Admission Procedure
Upon the recommendations of the University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi, and the Government of Telangana, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) has conferred Autonomous Status on Marri Laxman Reddy Institute of Technology and Management (MLRITM) from the Academic Year 2019–20. Under this status, the College awards degrees on behalf of JNTU Hyderabad.
Admissions to MLRITM are carried out along with other engineering institutions in the state through Common Entrance Tests conducted by the Government of Telangana.
Eligibility Criteria for Admission to B.Tech Courses
- The minimum qualification for admission into the first year of the B.Tech program at MLRITM is a pass in the Intermediate (10 + 2) examination conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Government of Telangana, or any other equivalent examination, with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as compulsory subjects.
- 70% of the seats are allotted based on merit through the Telangana Engineering, Agriculture & Pharmacy Common Entrance Test (TG EAPCET) conducted by the Government of Telangana.
- 30% of the seats are reserved for Management / NRI candidates, filled based on merit as per the guidelines of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE), Hyderabad.
- Additionally, 10% of the seats under the convener quota are reserved for candidates under the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category.
- Diploma holders are eligible for lateral entry admission into the second year of the B.Tech program, limited to 10% of the approved intake, based on merit in the Engineering Common Entrance Test (ECET) conducted by the Government of Telangana.
Eligibility Criteria for Admission to M.Tech Courses
Admissions to the M.Tech programs at MLRITM are offered under Category ‘A’ and Category ‘B’.
- Category ‘A’ admissions (70%) are made based on a valid GATE score or the TG PGECET rank conducted by the Government of Telangana.
- Category ‘B’ admissions (30%) are filled based on merit as per TSCHE guidelines.
- Additionally, 10% of the seats under the convener quota are reserved for candidates under the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission to MBA Course
- The minimum qualification for admission into the first year of the MBA program at MLRITM is a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline following the 10 + 2 + 3 pattern from a recognized university.
- 70% of the seats are allotted based on merit through the Telangana Integrated Common Entrance Test (TG ICET) conducted by the Government of Telangana.
- 30% of the seats are reserved for Management / NRI candidates, filled on the basis of merit as per TSCHE guidelines.
- Additionally, 10% of the seats under the convener quota are reserved for candidates under the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category.
