Readmission and Transfer Policy

A candidate who is detained or has discontinued a semester, upon readmission, shall be required to complete all courses prescribed in the curriculum of the batch with which they rejoin. Exemption will be granted for courses already passed in the earlier semester(s) for which equivalent or substitute courses are offered, as decided by the Board of Studies. The decision of the Board of Studies shall be final.

a) Transfer Candidates (from Non-Autonomous Colleges affiliated to JNTUH)

  • A student following the JNTUH curriculum, transferred from another college to this institute in the third or subsequent semesters, shall join the autonomous batch in the corresponding semester.
  • Such students must complete all courses prescribed for that batch from the semester of transfer onwards to be eligible for the award of degree.
  • Exemptions will be provided for equivalent courses already passed, with substitute courses offered as decided by the Board of Studies.
  • The student must clear all backlog courses of previous semesters by appearing for supplementary examinations conducted by JNTUH.
  • The total number of credits required for the award of degree shall be the sum of credits earned under JNTUH regulations up to the transfer semester and credits prescribed under autonomous regulations thereafter.
  • The final class shall be awarded based on academic performance under the autonomous evaluation pattern.

b) Transfer Candidates (from Autonomous Colleges affiliated to JNTUH)

  • A student who has secured the required credits up to the previous semester under another autonomous institution may be permitted to transfer to this institute.
  • Such students, transferred in the third or subsequent semesters, shall join the autonomous batch in the corresponding semester.
  • They must complete all prescribed courses of the batch from the transfer semester onwards to be eligible for the award of degree.
  • Exemptions will be granted for equivalent courses already passed, with substitute courses offered as decided by the Board of Studies.
  • The total number of credits required for the award of the degree shall include credits earned under the previous institution’s regulations and those prescribed under the autonomous system after transfer.
  • The class shall be awarded based on performance under the autonomous evaluation system.

c) Readmission from R18/R19/R20/R22/R24 to BT25 Regulations

A student admitted under R18/R19/R20/R22/R24 regulations, who was detained due to shortage of credits or attendance, may be permitted readmission under the prevailing regulations (BT25), subject to the following conditions:

  • The student must pass all courses from the earlier scheme of regulations. Backlog courses, if any, shall be cleared through supplementary examinations conducted under the earlier scheme.
  • Upon readmission, the student shall study courses prescribed under the new regulations at the corresponding level and beyond.
  • Courses already passed under the earlier regulations or semesters shall be exempted.
  • Courses not covered in the earlier regulations or semesters must be completed under the new curriculum through regular or supplementary examinations.
  • Course composition and credit requirements shall be balanced between old and new regulations on a case-by-case basis.
  • If required credits cannot be achieved through existing courses under the new regulations, additional theory or laboratory courses may be offered to fulfill the credit requirement.
