Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering – Laboratories

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Marri Laxman Reddy Institute of Technology and Management (MLRITM) is equipped with 13 laboratories that support academic learning, research, and innovation. Each laboratory is designed to provide students with hands-on experience aligned with the latest advancements in electronics and communication technology.

The laboratories are well-equipped with modern hardware, licensed software, and high-speed network connectivity, enabling students to translate theoretical concepts into practical implementation. These facilities cater to both core ECE areas and emerging technologies, ensuring that students are industry-ready and research-oriented.

List of Laboratories

1. Electronics Devices & Circuits (EDC) Lab

Enables students to analyse and test electronic components such as diodes, transistors, and amplifiers. Provides hands-on experience in designing basic analog circuits and understanding device characteristics essential for electronics engineering.


2. Digital System Design (DSD) Lab

Focuses on implementing digital logic circuits using logic gates, flip-flops, counters, and programmable devices. Students gain skills in designing and simulating digital systems using modern CAD tools.


3. PCB Design Lab

Helps students design, simulate, and fabricate printed circuit boards. Uses CAD software and PCB fabrication equipment to convert circuit ideas into functional hardware.


4. DSP & BS (Digital Signal Processing & Basic Signals) Lab

Students explore signal processing techniques such as filtering, sampling, Fourier analysis, and real-time operations using MATLAB and DSP processors.


5. Microwave & Optical Communications Lab

Supports experiments involving microwave components, antennas, waveguides, optical fibers, and communication modules. Helps students understand high-frequency transmission and optical communication principles.


6. ADC (Analog and Digital Communications) Lab

Students study transmission and reception techniques for analog and digital signals. Experiments include modulation, demodulation, data encoding, multiplexing, and basic wireless communication setups.


7. MPMC (Microprocessors & Microcontrollers) Lab

Provides hands-on programming experience with 8086 microprocessors and 8051 microcontrollers. Students develop embedded applications involving memory, sensors, and actuator interfacing.


8. ECAD & VLSI Design Lab

A specialized lab where students design and simulate integrated circuits using VLSI tools. Covers digital/analog IC design, layout creation, synthesis, and FPGA implementation.


9. LICA (Linear Integrated Circuits & Applications) Lab

Focuses on operational amplifiers and analog IC applications. Students design filters, oscillators, instrumentation systems, and signal conditioning circuits.


10. IoT and Embedded Systems Lab

A dedicated facility for building smart and connected devices. Students work with microcontrollers, sensors, wireless modules, and cloud platforms to create IoT-based solutions.


11. Robotics and Automation Lab

Promotes learning in automation technologies, robot motion control, machine vision, and autonomous system design. Encourages innovation in industrial and service robotics.


12. VLSI & Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC) Design Lab

A state-of-the-art lab focusing on semiconductor design, including ASIC development, verification, and testing. Provides industry-oriented exposure to chip design workflows and EDA software.


13. Wireless Communication Lab

Advances research and prototyping in wireless technologies including LTE/5G, antennas, RF modules, and advanced communication systems. Students learn modern wireless standards and testing procedures.
