Research Laboratories / Centers of Excellence – ECE Department
The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering has dedicated facilities that foster project-based learning and research. To support innovation and hands-on experience, four specialized Research Laboratories or Centers of Excellence are established exclusively for student projects and research activities, as listed below.
Center of Excellence for Internet of Things (IoT) and Embedded Systems (Industry Supported Lab)
Sponsored by SANSI RF Communications Pvt. Ltd., this laboratory provides industry-grade IoT and embedded system design components. With strong support from leading industry partners, students gain opportunities to explore Internet of Things applications, sensor integration, and real-time monitoring systems.
Center of Excellence for Robotics and Automation (Industry Supported Lab)
This state-of-the-art facility is equipped with advanced tools, including a humanoid robot sponsored by the All-India Robotic Association (AIRA). The lab enables students to design and program autonomous drones and robots, with a focus on AI-driven navigation, drone technologies, and robotic arm automation.
Center of Excellence for VLSI & Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC) Design Lab
The Center of Excellence for VLSI & ASIC Design provides advanced training in chip design, simulation, and digital system development. It equips students with hands-on experience using industry-standard tools and methodologies. This lab is primarily utilized by postgraduate students for research and project work in integrated circuit and system design. It is equipped with the Cadence University Standard Bundle, enabling end-to-end VLSI design and verification. This facility bridges the gap between academic learning and semiconductor industry practices.
Center of Excellence for Wireless Communication Lab
The Center of Excellence for Wireless Communication facilitates learning and experimentation in modern wireless networks and advanced communication technologies. It is utilized by both UG and PG students for project work and research activities. The lab is equipped with cutting-edge tools that enable students to design, simulate, and analyze real-time wireless communication systems. The facility supports innovation and skill development aligned with current industry standards.
